Join us for a special gathering to celebrate the rich textile history of Ithaca and Greece, and to reignite a love of textiles through storytelling, memory, craft, and community.
Event details:
Ithaca House – Level 2, 325 Elizabeth St, Melbourne
All proceeds from the event support the IHS’s cultural activities.
Special guests:
Kathryn Gauci – Acclaimed author and textile historian, passionate about preserving traditional craft
Sonia Zymantas – Artist and cultural advocate exploring empowerment through textile creation. Guests are invited to wear or bring a personal textile piece (old or new) for informal display and to share the story behind their piece (if they wish). Please let us know by email in advance if you have a textile piece you would like to display.
This is an initiative led by our younger Ithacan members who are stepping forward to relaunch the IHS Textiles project once known as Penelope's Loom.
