Meeting with Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens

The President of the IHS Mr Peter Raftopoulos met recently with the Director of the Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens (AAIA) Prof Tamar Hodos (University of Sydney).

Mr Raftopoulos hosted Prof Hodos at Ithaca House in Melbourne to discuss how the IHS and the AAIA can work together to promote archaeology on Ithaca. They were joined by Mr Peter Paxinos, former President of the Ithacan Philanthropic Society (1995–2007).

In 2024 the IHS formally affiliated with the Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens as a corporate member.

We are looking forward to working with the AAIA to plan future events and initiatives in Australia and in Greece.
